Sustainability
Responsible technology for the future of packaging
For PFM, sustainability is a process of continuous innovation. It means designing more efficient flexible packaging solutions, compatible with lower-impact materials and capable of generating value across the entire supply chain.
Sustainability as a process of innovation
For over 60 years, the PFM Group has been developing technologies for food and non-food packaging, combining industrial expertise, research and care for people. Today, this approach translates into a concrete commitment: improving products, processes and organisational models to help build a more efficient, safe and responsible packaging industry.
Innovation
Technologies for mono-material, biodegradable and paper-plastic laminated materials.
Energy
Energy efficiency and progressive reduction of the environmental impact of processes.
People
Safety, expertise, responsibility and professional growth at the centre.
Governance
Ethics, integrity and shared value across the entire production chain.
Innovation for more sustainable packaging
PFM’s research is geared towards developing technologies capable of responding to the new needs of the market and the environmental transition.
The Group has developed solutions able to process mono-material, biodegradable and paper-plastic laminated materials, supporting the shift towards more recyclable packaging and more efficient production processes.
The goal is clear: to help customers reduce waste, optimise performance and adopt packaging solutions compatible with the new challenges of the circular economy.

Energy efficiency and environmental responsibility
PFM is progressively reducing the environmental impact of its activities by acting on energy, waste and processes. The new Torrebelvicino headquarters is a building designed as a laboratory for the technology of the future.
A facility designed to promote self-consumption and reduce emissions. In 2024, initiatives for the separation and recovery of paper and plastic packaging were strengthened.

People, safety and skills
PFM’s sustainability starts with people. The Group promotes a working environment built on safety, expertise, responsibility and professional growth.
Risk prevention, ongoing training and employee involvement are central elements of the PFM industrial model. Every process, every machine and every project stems from specialised technical expertise and a quality-oriented work culture.
Governance and shared value
PFM is progressively integrating sustainability into its governance strategies. The Group operates according to principles of ethics, integrity and responsibility, requiring the same approach from employees, partners and suppliers.
The relationship with the supply chain is an integral part of this vision. In 2024, 94% of total procurement spending went to suppliers located in Italy, confirming the Group’s ties to the national industrial fabric and to the communities in which it operates.

Our commitment
Technologies where innovation and responsibility move forward together
Because the packaging of tomorrow will need to be more efficient, more flexible and more sustainable. And because every technological advance only has value when it helps improve the way businesses produce, collaborate and grow.
