PFM SpA of Vicenza has finalized an agreement to acquire a majority stake in BG Pack SpA, a Bergamo-based company established in 1996 by a group of professionals who gained their experience at the American multinational Hayssen, Inc. and who exited when Hayssen’s shut down its Italian operation.
The operation has allowed PFM to complete its range of vertical and horizontal flow pack machines for ergonomical and easy-open packaging for foodstuffs, with particular attention to the packaging of portions of cheese (also in MAP).
BG Pack specializes in the production of horizontal, multi-gripper packagers and vertical type form fill sealers, devised to produce three seal pillow packs fitted with a re-closable zip or closure using adhesive strip.
Ergonomical, reclosable, printable, recyclable and functional - BG Pack packaging has always stood out for its high degree of innovation.
This, along with indisputable quality of their packaging range and BG Pack staff’s ongoing involvement in research encouraged PFM to carry out the buy-up.
The operation is in fact part of a specific development plan that, exploiting the potential synergies that exist between the two companies, aims at increasing BG Packs’s annual turnover by 25% and attaining sector leadership in Europe for PFM.
All told entire turnover should stand at around 30,000,000 Euro.
