In the field of perishable food packaging, the concept of the "Reclosable Bag" has been studied by numerous flow wrap machine manufacturers in different forms and with different results.
From the "zip system", to systems involving theaddition of another sheet of heat sealable material to the pre-existing one, the results have never been wholly satisfactory.

Given the costs of the materials involved, the operating practicality, the unsatisfactory tightness of the sealing to the injection of gas usually necessary in this type of application or the reduction in productivity (i.e. the wrapping speed), all these systems present a number of disadvantages that cancel out the advantages offered by this type of packaging.
PFM has been working for some time with several producers of heat sealing material to find a material that, in our opinion, offers the most practical, straightforward and economically advantageous solution for the customer, without sacrificing any of the specia

l characteristics of this type of packaging, e.g. high integrity sealing and sealability at high packaging speeds.
Substantially, the idea consists in using a machine, specially developed by PFM, with "a particular type of film, known as peelable". There follows a general description of the "Scirocco" machine. To obtain the "Reclosable"wrapping, the "Pocket bag kit", that includes the vertical "crimper"and the "Pocket bag labelling machine" are also necessary.
