PFM Packaging Machinery is an industrial group made up of seven companies: The Italian parent company, PFM Packaging Machinery, which works alongside the UK PFM LTD, Canadian PFM Corporation USA & Canada, and German PFM Germany companies. BG Pack SPA, which is based in Bergamo, specialises in manufacturing special packaging machines for resealable packaging. MBP, a company based in Mantua, specialises in the production of multi-head weighers and vertical packaging machines thereby completing the range offered by PFM. Last in order of acquisition is SPS Italiana Pack Systems, which has come back into the hands of those who founded the company after exchanging ownership a number of times: this Company from Novara manufactures automatic handling and packaging machines for baked goods and biscuits.
An extremely high level of specialisation of the individual manufacturing units, perfect integration between the individual technical departments, which however remain independent, Vision 2000 organisation of marketing and after-sales areas, these are a few of the factors which have helped the Group achieve major results: 280 employees, a turnover of 55 million Euros in 2006, an estimated turnover for 2007 of 65 million of which an average of 5% is invested back into research.

PFM Packaging Machinery is the parent company of the Group, and provides the administrative, technical and sales co-ordination for all its companies.
The Company, based in Torrebelvicino in the province of Vicenza, designs, manufactures and markets Flow Wrap and Form Fill Seal packaging machines and automatic systems.
The range of products comprises around 40 different models of Flow Wrap and Form Fill Seal machines, various automatic feeding systems, an infinite range of accessories for specific operations dedicated to customising machines or lines.
PFM manufacture machines for various sectors of the food industry, including cheese portions, meat, sweets and vegetables. Major sectors are baked goods and non foods, such as the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
The technical department, made up of highly skilled engineers and designers, every day develops applications which are acknowledged as being amongst the best in the world in terms of their level of innovation, customisation and performance.
The Area Manager's staff manages and co-ordinates a sales force which covers 70 countries all over the world.
The Customer Service department supplies spare parts and technical servicing in real time thanks to the large number of technicians and testers and innovative servicing instruments such as Teleservice they have available.

PFM Packaging Machinery Limited is the UK headquarters of PFM.
Founded in 1987, PFM is a leading company in the UK in the cheese packaging industry.
Specialised in the manufacture and after-sales servicing of horizontal and vertical machines, multi-head weighers and automatic feeding and packaging lines, it serves markets in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.
The object of the Company is to market and sell of the entire range of packaging machines manufactured by the Group in the UK, without neglecting the consistent efficiency of the servicing provided, which is considered so important for PFM Packaging Machinery Limited as to warrant a good number of highly qualified being employed in this area and a certificate of merit being awarded for the After-Sales service in 2001, the "PPMA" prize.
The after-sales service comprises 6 specialised engineers headed by a Service Manager, a Sales Support Manager and a Spare Parts Manager. The spare parts department has a stock worth £400 K which testifies to the Company's commitment to supply spare parts in the shortest time possible. Although the Company is completely independent, PFM UK staff may receive support from After Sales Engineers from PFM Italia.
The technical staff are constantly updated and trained by means of specialisation courses organised by the Company Management, while Sales Management organises annual visits to the 4 Italian companies PFM SPA, MBP, BG PACK and SPS.
PFM UK have achieved excellent results over the last three years which have averaged out at a growth rate of +15%.

Founded in 2004, PFM Germany deals with the sales of the entire range of machines manufactured by the companies PFM, MBP and BG Pack on the German, Swiss and Northern and Central European markets.
At such a historic moment in time as this, when attention is moving further and further away from the product and more towards service, PFM Germany have set their sights on being present in the centre of Europe in order to be able to respond in extremely short times to the requirements of the commercial and logistical efficiency that the customers in this area demand.
The design department is integrated with that of the parent company; the servicing department is structured so as to have constantly trained and upgraded technicians to cover the whole territory of Germany and Switzerland, who liaise with the engineers and technicians in the PFM servicing department.
Founded in 1991, PFM Canada represents an outpost for the manufacturing and distribution of PFM products in North America.
Based near Toronto, PFM Canada has 35 employees manufacturing from the ground up a number of Flow Pack models, automatic packaging lines and handling and feeding systems for both food and non food applications.
With an idependant Engineering Dept comprised of experienced mechanical and electrical Engineers, PFM Canada is able to provide the latest in technological improvements and specific design, advise on specialized applications and customize the packaging line to the client’s specifications.
The Sales Dept is composed of both internal Regional Managers and a network of agents and distributors to provide close territorial coverage and enhance the relationship with the equipment end users, to identify their needs and to implement an efficient after sale customer satisfaction program.
In terms of after sale service, PFM Canada can count on a well organized structure composed of a Service Manager, a service coordinator and highly trained service technicians who can efficiently address the customer's needs all across North America. After hours service and weekend service is available through a dedicated service line answered by the qualified technician on call. Teleservice is also available through the internet.
Over $2 million in spare parts are stocked onsite for delivery within 24 hours.

Founded in1996, BG Pack joined the PFM group in 2001.
Based in Bergamo, BG Pack are well-known on the international packaging market for manufacturing specialised, dedicated hi-tech packaging machines for the production of innovative flexible packaging formats.
The BG Pack range translates into Multi-jaw Flow Pack and Form Fill Seal "custom-built" packaging machines, in other words those used for special applications: 80% of their components are currently customised. This means that almost every single machine they manufacture can be considered an innovative project. The top of the range is Vetta, a vertical packaging machine: it can produce up to 30 different types of packages including the "doy style" with zips, "doy style" with adhesive tab and Steelo Pack (packages with a square base and 4 seals, also available with a zip).
The main sales markets are Europe, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and the USA. The after-sales service is integrated with PFM and is composed of a large number of constantly upgraded technical staff and also offers remote servicing using Teleservice via the Internet or modem.

Founded in 1980, MBP joined the PFM Group in August 2002 and is based in Mantua.
MBP is specialised in the design and manufacture of multi-head and linear weighers, Form Fill Seal type vertical packaging machines, and can, carton and tin filling and capping machines. Europe, Russia and the Middle East are the outlets for its products.
The MBP range of multi-head weighers mount 8 to 24 heads. Weighers are available with pull-out, interchangeable sections, Step motors and IP65 protection ratings. In 2006 the revolutionary C2 series of weighers was launched which features the highest standards of technology available on the market in their design concept, speed, precision and performance. The Multi Cip, a patented system for the automatic washing of multi-head weighers, is also amongst their latest projects. In the vertical machine sector, further improvements have been made to the CTC 400-600-800 as well as to the Kar 24 filling/sealing machines.
The degree of innovation introduced with these applications requires continuous study and upgrading by the technical department, both independently of and in conjunction with PFM. Likewise, the after-sales servicing department works independently of and in conjunction with PFM and may also operate remotely using the Teleservice system.
MBP's turnover has seen an increase of 20% a year and 5% of the total turnover is ploughed back every year into research and development.

Founded in 1964 by Pietro Fioravanti under the name of Italianapack, SPS Italiana Pack Systems rejoined the PFM Group in October 2003. Manufacturing is based in the provice of Novara.
SPS are specialised in the production of automatic packaging systems for baked goods, stacked and "edgeways up" biscuits, biscuits with fillings and wafers; their main markets are Europe, the USA, the Middle and Far East and China.
SPS develop and produce automatic gripping and sorting systems for products arriving from continuous baking ovens or cooling tunnels; there are various automatic feeding systems operating at various speeds (depending on the products and production requirements); high speed horizontal packaging machines for single portion products, multipacks and products arranged edgeways up; filling machines for single and two-colour cream centres, and accessories to complete lines.
On-going research, upgrading of technical staff and investment into research and development, which amounts to 3% of annual turnover, have enabled SPS to achieve outstanding results in optimising technology: today the Company produces automatic lines which apply the highest standards of technology in the industry. The technical department, which works independently of and in conjunction with PFM, uses state of the art platforms and design systems. The servicing and spare parts department is structured so as to respond in extremely short times, including remotely through the use of the Teleservice system.
Increase in turnover for the last two years has been confirmed at +20%.
PFmeccanica PFM Group Components Production Centre

was created within the PFM GROUP to form a new production centre for mechanical components to be used in conjunction with other highly specialised suppliers, which already form the Group's manufacturing structure.
PFMeccanica is a response to the strong demand of all the companies in the Group to personally guarantee absolute quality of the mechanical units making up their machines.
Pfmeccanica is equipped with the best digitally-controlled tooling machines available on the market. A sophisticated quality control system ensures that each individual component is mechanically processed to perfection and complies with all requirements.
