INTERPACK 2002: PFM STAND IS AN IMPORTANT CENTER OF INTEREST
(07 - 10 - 2002)
Interpack 2002:
Hundreds of people visited the PFM Packaging Machinery stand at the trade fair held in Düsseldorf just recently. Amongst all the contacts, there were many considered of interest by the marketing management of the Company.
10 machines were exhibited of which 6 were absolute newcomers.
Attention was concentrated on the new "POCKET BAG®" open and re-close packages produced by the vertical VETTA machine and horizontal BG2800 and SCIROCCO PB flow wrap machines (all of which can be combined with the PFM remote-assistance service).
These are flexible film packages, which can be re-closed after being opened, the classic example of this being the traditional tobacco packet, which PFM has re-interpreted, making it suitable for other types of product: cheese portions, grated cheese (also in M.A.P.), fine granular products, sweets and many others which are normally consumed in several stages; their basic feature is that they remain fresh so that the product can maintain its original features long after the product has been opened.
- Another important centre of interest of the PMF stand was the "Blizzard cut & flow wrap line" for bubble gum and toffee, which is able to cut and package a "cord" of product at a rate of up to 1600 cycles a minute.
The innovative cutter fitted on the line allows the product to be cut at a perfect right angle, thereby eliminating the problem of waste which normally arises using the classic trapeziform cutter method.
And the talk of all the visitors to the stand was the possibility of combining a labelling machine with the Blizzard to insert adhesive labels inside the packaging at a production speed of up to 1500 packs/min.
It must not be forgotten however that Blizzard flow wrap can also package round, oval and square hard sweets using the PFM electronically-programmed loading disc with a speed of up to 1800 packs/min.
- The third main attraction at the trade fair was the line composed of a PFM Mistral electronic horizontal flow wrap machine with special retraction tunnel, specially designed for air-conditioned environments with triple insulated chamber, for the packaging of chicken portions in trays with retractable centre-printed film.
This line, studied in every detail especially for this specific sector, was applauded by a large number of people working in this particular line of business.
Also at this edition of Interpack, PFM was able to confirm the concepts that set its production apart from the rest: technology, innovation, performance and after-sales service, the latter also provided by means of a remote-assistance service, which performs a remote total diagnosis of all the machine's functions and enables any problems to be solved in real time without any inconvenience for the customer.
