Solaris Smart3D is a form-fill-seal, continuous-motion packaging machine that produces sealed “pillow-pack” type packages starting from a reel of flat-foil wrapping material. The special transferring continuous-motion Smart3D sealing system (a PFM patent) enables Solaris to produce packages with three sealings and a square base and Steelo-Bags (stand-up packages with square base and 4 rigidised corners, optional) at high speed.
Packaging speeds
the Solaris packaging machine has been constructed to achieve a speed of 200 3-seal packages a minute.
Technical Features
- Monoblock frame structure constructed entirely of steel with multi-head weighers, volumetric or auger fillers mounted directly onto the packaging machine. Any access gantrywill be independent and will not bear the weight of the weigher.
- Exclusive Smart3D (“stile box motion”) continuous motion sealing system. A feature of this system is that programming of the vertical movement axis is totally independent of the horizontal crimper closing axis. The extremely lightweight sealing unit is also a distinctive feature and has been made possible by the special, patented handling system, which avoids the trolley having to carry unnecessary weight. This enables outstanding performance to be achieved.
- State-of-the-art Smart3D software for axis control and film draw down.
- Programming is carried out on a 12.2” or 15” (optional) active matrix touch screen display. If an MBP multi-head weigher is used, a single touch screen can be used for programming both the packaging machine and multi-head weigher’s parameters.
- The cantilevered structure facilitates reel changeover and makes the film feed simple and logical. Furthermore, all the mechanical and electronic components can easily be inspected by opening the wide side doors, which give complete access to the control cabinet.
- Continuous wrapping material draw down is controlled by two automatically opening side belts, which can be combined with an optional vacuum system.
- Reel-holder shaft with expansion lock enables the reel of wrapping material to be replaced extremely quickly.
- A double reel-holder shaft with automatic reel splice is available as an option.
- All the mechanical parts are tooled by PFmeccanica (PFM Group) using new-generation, digitally-controlled machines.
- Safety system complies with current health and safety standards.
